The Northern Spy is a large, late-season apple with a greenish-yellow skin flushed with pinkish-red stripes. Its pale yellow flesh is very crisp, juicy, and has a complex sweet-tart flavor with notes of pear, making it excellent for both fresh eating and cooking. It is a well-balanced, all-purpose apple that stores well, but its thin skin can bruise easily.
