A medium to large sized, evergreen conifer with a medium growth rate, pyramidal shape, dense crown and horizontal branching; known for its distinctive blue-green needles that are four-sided, stiff and sharply pointed. We have selected the Kiabab strain for its uniform growth, well-spaced branches and high percentage of blue plants. Cones are light brown, cylindrical and pendulous with thin, paper-like scales, green or violet when young, maturing to a light brown color. Grows best in rich, moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. A beautiful specimen for any landscape.
